We are the Student Services responsible for 50,000 students and staff of the University of Duisburg-Essen, Folkwang University of the Arts at their two campus locations in Essen and Duisburg, as well as the University of Applied Sciences in the western Ruhr area in the cities of M\u00fcllheim and Bottrop. We provide a comprehensive range of services so that you, too, can relax and say, \u201cI am in the midst of it all, centered in life and on my way to a good education.\u201d<\/p>\n

Student Housing<\/h4>\n

In Duisburg, Essen-Duisburg Student Services maintain seven student residences with approximately 870 rooms. In Essen there are also seven residences with around 1,400 rooms and in M\u00fclheim there are two complexes with around 150 rooms.<\/p>\n

The advantages of living in a Student Services\u2019 hall of residence are the affordable, all-inclusive rent; the housing is conveniently located near the university; and every room has Internet access. There is a housing option to suit every wish: single rooms, some double rooms, furnished or unfurnished, shared suites\/apartments or dormitory-type rooms along a corridor.<\/p>\n

Availability is restricted to matriculated university students in Duisburg, Essen, M\u00fclheim or Bottrop.<\/p>\n

Dining Facilities<\/h4>\n

Essen-Duisburg Student Services provide for the culinary well-being of its university students and employees with its dining halls and cafeterias. Members of the academic community at the universities in Essen, Duisburg, M\u00fclheim and Bottrop can receive warm meals, snacks and beverages in eight dining halls and cafeterias, as well as at diverse food dispensing machines.<\/p>\n

Students with Children<\/h4>\n

Essen-Duisburg Student Services run two daycare centers and another more flexible childcare facility with capacity altogether for 123 children between 4 months and 6 years old. All of the childcare facilities are conveniently located near the University of Duisburg Essen.<\/p>\n

Counseling and Social Services<\/h4>\n

Essen-Duisburg Student Services provide counseling for financial issues and difficult personal questions and problems that are encountered as a student. Support is given to create realistic study goals and organize manageable study plans. Counseling services are free of charge and confidential.<\/p>\n
