Student Housing<\/h4>\n

Aachen Student Services offer modern and inexpensive housing for 4,811 students in 23 locations in Aachen and J\u00fclich. The student residence buildings are student-governed, allowing the students numerous opportunities to actively take part in determining their own living conditions.\u00a0 Options include single rooms, suites for 2-5 roommates, full apartments, and family housing arrangements. Access to cable TV and Internet, laundry facilities, as well as recreation and party rooms are standard amenities. All residences are conveniently located with good public transportation to the universities.<\/p>\n

In addition to these university-owned buildings, Aachen Student Services have capacity for another 70 students in a private student residence (Haarener Gracht<\/em> in Aachen).<\/p>\n

Aachen Student Services also supervise the project \u201cWohnduo \u2013 Wohnen f\u00fcr Hilfe<\/em>\u201d, in which students receive reduced rent in exchange for doing small jobs for the elderly or helping others who need assistance.<\/p>\n

Dining Facilities<\/h4>\n

In the nine dining facilities operated by Aachen Student Services, guests can choose their own meal combinations from a buffet of main courses and side dishes (including vegetarian dishes), soups and stews, as well as fresh vegetables and salads. There are seven cafeterias for shorter breaks. These offer a choice of baguettes and rolls with various toppings, cake and warm snacks. The modern \u201cCaff\u00e8 Bars\u201d<\/em> run by the Student Services are an enticement to stop for Italian coffee specialties.<\/p>\n

Students with Children<\/h4>\n

Five daycare centers for the care of 150 children are available to assist parents studying or otherwise associated with the universities in Aachen and J\u00fclich.<\/p>\n

In Aachen:
\nDaycare center \u201cPusteblume\u201d<\/em> has capacity for 48 children, aged 4 months to school entrance (usually age 6)
\nDaycare center \u201cMelatener Stra\u00dfe\u201d<\/em>: 40 children, aged 4 months to school entrance (usually age 6).
\nDaycare center \u201cSonnenstrahl\u201d<\/em>:30 children, aged 4 months to school entrance (usually age 6)
\nNursery school \u201cPiccolino\u201d<\/em>: 22 children, aged 4 months to 3 years<\/p>\n
